Installation Process
There are two options for installation available for the murals. The first installation type is a hard install, in which the ceramic mural tiles are affixed with an adhesive directly to the wall surface. This is a permanent installation, and is how all of Stan’s early pieces were installed. The other installation type incorporates a steel frame which is bolted to the wall, and then the ceramic modules are hung by cleats onto the steel frame. This type of installation allows for the piece to be relocated in the future, should the client so desire. The photos included in this section represent both types of installation. The type of installation varies depending on the site requirements and client preferences. In addition to being displayed on a wall, murals can also be displayed free-standing on posts in an outdoor setting, utilizing the steel frame method. The posts are set in concrete, and the steel frame is attached to the posts.
